Great staff - only one vegetarian choice. good beer choice

Most of the food was very salty, even with a margarita to wash it down. The corn chips and tortillas are still lovely. But the quality of everything else seems to have declined since it's first opened. It was a disappointing visit, especially when I told my friend I was bringing her to one of the best Mexican eateries in town.

Great time - not as good as the last. The fish tacos were a bit dry (the fish perhaps overcooked) and the music was quite loud (we were outside). But service was excellent and all the rest of the food and the drinks were wonderful.

We generally enjoyed our experience. The cabbage taco was delicious - smoky and deeply flavourful. The pork taco as good too. The fish taco was the most disappointing - the fish needed to have been deep fried, rather than grilled, or it needed another ingredient beyond the mayo and cabbage to make it feel 'complete'. The tamarind and passion fruit margaritas were good although did taste a little 'thin'..maybe they needed Cointreau.

Finally some decent tacos! Great food and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back.

No Guacamole! At 7:30pm! And only one ice block left. Helpfully told to share it between 4…and no alternative dessert offered to us. That said, the rest of the food was amazing.

Delicious food, great service, I was almost sad we were going to a show. I wished I'd made time for dessert and a few more margaritas.

Food was great, only complaint is the waiter didn't know the wine list, and one of the wines on the menu wasn't on the pos system, so couldn't suggest anything similar.

The recommendations were spot on! Amazing food (well above expectation!) and stellar customer service! I have never felt so welcomed in a restaurant as a parent of a preschooler, a truly kid friendly dining experience going above and beyond to make dining at Tacoteca a truly pleasant experience. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Auckland!

The most authentic and yummy Mexican food we’ve ever had! It’s tapas style and it’s super, SUPER tasty 🤤. The staff also were so attentive, friendly, and excited to talk and share about the food too which always makes it sooo much better!! You have to try the dulce de liche dessert - there’s only one option on the menu and it’s the only option needed 🤤, for a cocktail grab a pink senorita maguerita - it has a salt rim to die for.. and the tamales, tacos, guacamole, and gringa were ALL so incredibly scrumptious!!! We will be back.

Waiters were almost overly attentive with the water -- I don't need a top up when my glass is still half full!! But service was incredibly fast and the food was incredible, and the people were lovely. x

Everything was excellent. The ceviche, drinks, tortilla chips, tacos! The service was equally as good and the vibe was great too. Would 10/10 recommend.

The staff were so friendly, food was fresh and delicious and no complaints from our kids, even the fussy one. Only down side was not being able to try the whole menu, but we got pretty close- guess we’ll have to return next time we’re in Auckland.

best mexican in auckland totally authentic and great value for money

Nice new fit-out, tasteful. Seats uncomfortable and not keen on the metal chair legs on polished concrete, it makes an awful racket. Upon arrival, they didn’t seem ready for customers (possibly having a post lunch briefing). We were greeted by three different people before telling them I had a booking was understood. Cocktails were nice! Chips and dip yum and arrived quickly. Tacos clean fresh and thoughtful. Favourites were pork and cabbage and we tried them all. Thanks

Staff were super lovely, Food was good! we initially booked pre-another event we were going to but ran out of time so they re-booked us for after with zero hassle and an even better table. Would definitely recommend

Tasty tacos !! You will need to order 3-4 tacos to fill your tummy though . Will definitely be back !!
